It’s too trendy to point out how ubiquitous our 21st Century Orientalism has become -- almost as ubiquitous as the real-time strategy genre. Still, the fact remains that the Far East is a fascinating place and a staple motif of electronic gaming Three Kingdoms: Fate of the Dragon isn’t the first game to utilize the warlord period following the fall of the Han dynasty as a backdrop for adventure and intrigue.
Most notable would be the titles from Koei, and the most recent of those is Dynasty Warriors for Playstation 2. Being the console editor, I feel obligated to note that. However, in Fate of the Dragon, the heroes and historical figures you encounter become more than just the names of tough guys. Fate of the Dragon offers some real historical knowledge about a certain time period in China, and it does it in a package that is mostly enjoyable.

Battle Of Europe

Battle of Europe is a mission-based single-player game. The level objectives are provided at the beginning of each mission and the gameplay is straightforward. Meet the objectives and you proceed to the next mission. Each mission attempts to hold your attention by presenting a variety of challenges, with each one advancing your air battle experience and knowledge. Completing fighter, interceptor and bomber missions without the complications of carburetor enrichment, stall speed alterations, and other realistic WWII flight complications leaves the player focused on the excitement of each battle.
The game's controls default to keyboard-only use, and, without a working joystick, I initially changed them to a combination of keyboard and mouse. This worked alright for me once I set the input sensitivity extremely low. However, my disappointment with my failed attempts to get a controller working, with applicable drivers, left me with the impression that players may require a lot of patience when setting up their favourite input devices.

World War II Combat: Iwo Jima, The single-player campaign takes you through the conquest of Iwo Jima by placing you in historical battles. Each level is introduced through the reading of a letter while real footage that looks like it came straight from the History Channel plays next to the text. As an introduction to the upcoming stage, this works fairly well. Unfortunately, the scenes of war do nothing but give you false hope about what you're in for once the level loads.

The first game in the series for seven years, Sensible Soccer 2006 plays as well as its predecessors, albeit with little innovation and a few gameplay issues.Despite the subtle change in controls, the game plays an incredibly similar game of football to the original Sensible Soccer.Seen from an overhead view, players can make either short passes or long crosses/shots, and an arrow at the player's feet shows the trajectory of the ball. As with all Sensible Soccer games, an enormous amount of aftertouch can be applied to long shots, letting you bend the ball into the goal or pick out a player after you've crossed it. 

Players can now sprint at the touch of a button, although they have a limited supply of stamina that you need to use strategically through each game. You can tackle by approaching the opposing player and pressing the pass button, whilst using the long pass button performs a sliding tackle, although this is riskier.
